Sunlit Paths (for [community profile] crowdfunding Creative Jam)

Like the paths upon the lands,
The currents in the winds,
The currents in the seas,

There are paths among the stars.
As one may walk from town to town,
As one may sail from land to land,
So one may ride from star to star.
The sunlit paths may not be seen
In light from red to violet.
They must be mapped in other light
Or photographed in false color.
Like highways they are dangerous
If one rides the wrong vehicle.
Like riptides they may sweep one off
Never to be heard from again.
Like two roads in a yellow wood
(Frost said, sighing, an age ago)
They take the traveler here or there.
Like rivers, never twice the same,
The paths are predictable but
Never are they identical.
Like the paths upon the lands,
The currents in the winds,
The currents in the seas,
There are paths among the stars.
As one may walk from town to town,
As one may sail from land to land,
So one may ride from star to star.
Oh, come away and ride with me!
